In V1, the breeding cost for each plant was statically set to 1000 STRAINZ tokens at the beginning. With each breeding, this number was doubled, i.e. 1000 STRAINZ, 2000 STRAINZ, 4000 STRAINZ, 8000 STRAINZ, etc.
In order to create an incentive for growers and especially to help those who have plants with a low grow rate, this breeding cost is adjusted to the respective grow rate of the plant.
This will also ensure that more plants will hit the marketplace as more plants will be generated.
Breeding Cost
The breeding cost is now based on the grow rate of the plant and the number of times the plant has been bred.
Instead of the original static 1000 STRAINZ, the grow rate of the plant is now multiplied by a factor currently set to 20 to get the breeding costs for the first breeding. The grow rate increases linearly with each breeding of the plant by the size of the factor.
This means that the respective child always has the average grow rate of the parents -25.
Breed Fertilizer
The breed fertilizer can be bought with the new SEEDZ token. The grow fertilizer will cost 10.000 SEEDZ at the beginning of V2, but can be adjusted by the dev.
By using the breed fertilizer the grow rate of the child also changes to the positive. If the fertilizer is applied, the following formula is used:
((grow rate parent1 + grow rate parent2) / 2) + 10
This means that the child will get the average grow rate of the parents +10 when using the fertilizer.
The breed fertilizer is essential to multiply accessories. Firstly, both parents must wear the respective accessory, secondly, the average grow rate of the parents must be at least 128 and last but not least, the breed fertilizer must be used during the breeding process. If these conditions are met, the child receives with a probability of 100% the accessory of the parents.
When applied to a plant, the fertilizer will be consumed.
